Dancing On Ice results branded a ‘fix’ as Gemma Collins thanks fans

Gemma Collins has thanked fans for saving her in the latest Dancing On Ice results, which some have branded a ‘fix’.

Sunday evening saw the nine remaining couples skate live for a fourth time, before another went home.

At the end of each routine the judges – Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Jason Gardiner and Ashley Banjo – gave their comments and marks out of 10 before viewers could vote for their favourite.

The judges scores were then combined with the viewer’s votes before the bottom two couples were revealed as Loose Women star Saira Khan and cricketer Ryan Sidebottom.

The judging panel chose who to save and who to send home, and it was Saira who left Dancing On Ice this week. All four judges, including the week’s head judge Jayne, saved Ryan.

Once again Gemma made it through, despite scoring the lowest marks including just 3 points from Torvill & Dean.

The outcome was branded a ‘fix’ by some viewers, after Phillip Schofield spoke to her about next week’s show before the result was revealed.

“Well, we’ve got next week as well,” he encouraged her after the marks from the judges. “So you’ve got the whole week to build back up again.”

Tweeted one fan: “So Phillip Scholfield said that Gemma Collins has a whole week ahead of her to practise. A blunder? Is the show a fix? She gets consistent bad scores, can’t dance nor skate and yet gets through week after week. Must be a fix? #DancingOnIce”

Appearing on ITV’s This Morning, Phil responded to the allegations: “There were loads of people on Twitter saying, ‘Oh my god,’ because I’d said to her ‘Oh there’s always next week, there’s always next week.’

“So they all thought, ‘Oh it’s a fake they already know she’s going through,’ which of course is absolute utter nonsense. We don’t know who’s going to go through until we announce it, but she’s got this week to get her confidence back.”

A spokesperson for the show also denied the claims, saying: “The show is not fixed.”

Gemma herself spoke out on ITV’s Good Morning Britain today to thank those that had voted for her, especially after the previous week’s fall.

“This week I’m really grateful to everyone voting me back,” she said. “It’s not that I haven’t been trying, I’ve been in agony.

“It wasn’t the next day after the fall, it was two days later the agony set in. The pain come out and then the shock set in, then it was my birthday last Thursday and I didn’t do a thing.”
