Dancing On Ice’s new judge Ashley Banjo predicts “fireworks” with Jason Gardiner

Ashley Banjo has predicted “fireworks” if he joins the Dancing On Ice panel alongside Jason Gardiner.

Ashley is confirmed to be a brand new judge to Dancing On Ice in the new year, joining former panelist Jason and previous show coaches Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean for the tenth series.

And Diversity dancer Ashley thinks there could be trouble ahead.

“I can imagine us clashing,” Ashley said of himself and Jason. “Do I look like I can be bullied? No chance.

“I’m going to have to start thinking of witty one-liners. Jason is very good at that.

“He is the king of the one-liners, let’s hope he’s not lost it.”

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Ashley also explained why he had signed up for the show despite no background in ice skating.

“It is not called Skating on Ice. There are so many elements that cross over into what I do,” he explained. “I’m not an expert in skating but it is all about choreography, stage direction and music. That is what I do for a living.”

Alongside the trio of judges, ITV have also announced that Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby will return as hosts.

Plus, the first celebs have been confirmed for the line up.

Soap star Brooke Vincent was revealed as the new series’ first star signing for the returning show. Cheryl Baker was the second celebrity confirmed to compete in Dancing on Ice 2018 before Love Island contestant Kem Cetinay became the third confirmed star.

Joining them are Great British Bake Off’s Candice Brown, X Factor singer Jake Quickenden, Rugby hunk Max Evans and Cricket hero Monty Panesar.

Dancing On Ice will air on ITV in the New Year.
