Dancing On Ice 2018 line up’s first contestant is officially confirmed

The first Dancing On Ice 2018 contestant has been officially confirmed today.

Soap star Brooke Vincent has been revealed as the new series’ first star signing, one of 12 celebs.

Speaking to Dancing On Ice hosts Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield on their other show This Morning, Brooke appeared to announce the news.

The Corrie actress confessed she was still wobbly in training and wasn’t sure of her chances after beginning rehearsals.

But she added: “I love a challenge. Ice skating, what an amazing skill.”

Brooke went on: “Next year I can go with the girls and be like, ‘I can do this, I can do that’ and they’ll be holding on to the sides.

“I’ve been trying to lose a few pounds to get in those leotards. I started my ice training on Saturday.

“If I get injured at least I’ll look sparkly on the way to the hospital.”

Dancing On Ice originally ran between 2006 and 2014 but will return for a tenth series next year.

Featuring a brand new cast of celebrities plucked from the world of TV, music and showbiz, a refreshed line up of skating professionals, a spectacular new set, and more ambitious routines than ever before, the show’s revival will prove unmissable event television.

While Brooke is the only confirmed celeb so far, many others have been rumoured.

Love Island contestant Kem Cetinay, Coronation Street actor Antony Cotton, rugby player Max Evans and celebrity psychic Sally Morgan are all tipped to take to the ice rink.

It’s understood that up to 50 potential celebrity contestants are being tried out for the show.

X Factor singer Jake Quickenden, cricketer Ebony Rainford-Brent and Olympian Amber Hill are also on the rumoured Dancing On Ice lineup.

Further names are reigning Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown, Loose Women panellist Saira Khan and soap actress Katie McGlynn.

The brand new series of Dancing On Ice 2018 is expected to return to ITV in January.
