Coleen Rooney has responded to rumours she’s set for Strictly Come Dancing this year.
The wife of footballer Wayne Rooney was previously linked to the show last year.
But she apparently gave up the place due to her pregnancy.
Now once again it’s been claimed that Strictly bosses are keen to book the mum of four for the show.
“Coleen deferred her place last year after falling pregnant but has the option of taking it up this year – and talks have begun to make that happen,” a source alleged this weekend.
They told the Daily Mirror that it could be “one of Strictly’s biggest signings ever” and a “ratings sensation”
A source added: “It would be Coleen’s chance to step out from Wayne’s shadow and prove she’s not just a footballer’s wife. And it would mean Wayne would be in the audience, which is sure to be a ratings hit.”
However, Coleen has now broken her silence and said it’s just NOT going to happen.
After all the speculation, she told OK! Magazine: “I’m not. I’m not a dancer and I won’t be doing the show.”
Earlier this year, insiders had claimed to The Sun that Wayne was “concerned” about Coleen potentially taking part in the show because of the ‘Strictly curse’.
But the source revealed: “Coleen has laughed that off and doesn’t see the curse as a reason not to do the show.”
Last year, The Daily Star on Sunday newspaper reported that producers were willing to “break the bank” to secure the Liverpudlian for the show.
“Coleen is very hot property,” a source told the tabloid at the time. “She has a massive following of fans. But she is also married to the former England captain.
“With any project she does, Wayne is bound to be by her side supporting her. Having him in the studio audience would be great for any show.”
Other names Strictly Come Dancing bosses could sign this year include TV personality Anneka Rice, X Factor star turned TV host Rylan Clark-Neal, football pundit Chris Kamara and Radio DJ Maya Jama.
More potential Strictly 2018 celebs include soap stars Chelsea Halfpenny and Hayley Tamaddon plus breakfast TV presenters Piers Morgan and Dan Walker, who front ITV’s Good Morning Britain and BBC’s Breakfast respectively.
2015 Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussein Hollyoaks star turned Oscar winner Rachel Shenton and The Chase’s Mark Labbett have also been tipped to take part in Strictly Come Dancing 2018, alongside former England footballer David James and Actress Michelle Keegan.
Strictly Come Dancing will begin on BBC One in the autumn.
