It’s been revealed that Chris Ramsey has broken a Strictly Come Dancing record – although not one he would’ve wanted.
The comedian made his debut on the dancefloor last weekend with pro partner Karen Hauer.
They performed a Cha Cha Cha to Juice by Lizzo scoring just 13 points.
Appearing on It Takes Two this week, it was revealed that Chris had set a record with the performance.
Host Zoe Ball shared: “Just clear of the bottom, and it’s Karen’s lowest ever score – congratulations!”
“I didn’t know that!” reacted Chris before telling Karen: “You didn’t mention that!”
She replied: “I was trying not to, I was being a gentle-lady!”
Zoe laughed: “It’s nice to have some kind of record.”
Speaking about his first live performance, Chris admitted: “It’s the first time I’ve felt genuine fear for anything like that. I’ve done stand up in arenas or big gigs but that was fear. It’s so horribly scary.”
And he quipped about the judges’ scores: “I was just over the moon it wasn’t negative numbers! I thought it was fair enough.”
Karen encouraged: “He got the steps right and I thought he did brilliantly.”
This weekend, Chris and Karen will dance a Charleston to Out of Our Heads by Take That.
He said: “I am taking the positive things the judges said and trying to build on it this week.”
Strictly Come Dancing 2019 returns to TV this Saturday night at 6:40PM on BBC One.
The results air on Sunday night from 7:15PM.
The two couples with the lowest combined judges’ scores and viewer votes will take part in the dreaded dance-off. The judges must then decide who stays and which couple will be the first to say their goodbyes.
Following the first live performances, Kelvin Fletcher has been installed as the favourite to win while James Cracknell is the one in danger of going first.
Meanwhile, Sunday’s results show will also be a special musical performance from Lewis Capaldi, performing his number one bestselling single, Someone You Loved.
