E4 airs wrong Married At First Sight episode amid technical problems

What happened to Married At First Sight tonight

The planned final episode of Married At First Sight failed to air on E4 last night.

What should have been the last episode of the new series yesterdayevening (Thursday, 30 September) was instead a repeat of the previous night’s drama.

In a statement on social media, E4 said: “We’re aware it’s yesterday’s episode of #MAFSUK playing out this evening and apologise.

“It’s all down to our ongoing tech issues which we’re working hard on. We’ll update here as soon as we know more and when you’ll be able to see the final episode of MAFS UK.”

They added: “To confirm, #MAFSUK and Afters won’t be playing tonight. We’re sorry again – we’re working to make it available on All 4 and E4 as soon as possible and we’ll update as soon as we know more.”

A date for when the final episode will air is to be confirmed.

It follows Channel 4, E4 and streaming service All 4 continuing to face technical problems following a major outage last weekend.

Channel 4, Channel 5, E4, More4, Film4 and more channels either froze or showed blank screens to those attempting to watch on Saturday (25 September).

While some channels have returned to normal, Channel 4, E4 and its online service All 4 continue to face problems as of today (Tuesday, 28 September).

Viewers have reported Channel 4 freezing, E4 being off-air and All 4 struggling to stream live shows.

Channel 4 said in a post on social media: “Sadly we’re still experiencing some tech issues which means some viewers may have problems watching our channels or access services. Sorry for the ongoing disruption – we’ll let you know here as and when we have updates.

“Following the incident at the weekend, All 4 is still experiencing some problems. We suggest that you watch your favourite programmes on television until further notice.”

A number of other TV channels were impacted by Saturday’s outage including 5USA the Paramount Network and 5Select.

It was confirmed on Sunday that the cause was a fire alarm evacuation at a transmission centre in London

Red Bee Media, who handle the broadcasting for a number of channels, said in a statement: “We confirm that all staff at our Broadcast Centre in West London were safely evacuated following activation of the fire suppression systems this evening.

“As a result of this incident and the automatic safety measures set in motion at the time, several services originating from the Broadcast Centre have been disrupted.

“London Fire Brigade attended the scene, and once they had determined that the building is safe, people were allowed to return to the building. We are continuing to work to restore all services and remedy any issues caused by this incident.”

They added: “To avoid speculation, we will not make any further statements until all services have been fully restored and we have concluded a full investigation of the cause. We apologise for any inconvenience for our customers and their viewers.”
