A line up of celebrities join Gordon Ramsay and Gino D’Acampo in a Christmas dinner battle tonight on ITV.
Chefs Gordon and Gino will go head to head to create an epic Christmas Banquet, in celebration of some of 2017’s real heroes.
It’s a Christmas competition with all the trimmings as Gordon Ramsay and Gino D’Acampo battle it out to produce the ultimate festive menu, creating scrumptious starters, magnificent mains and delectable desserts for 100 deserving diners.
Tucking in will be members of the public and the emergency services who bravely risked their lives during tragic events, as they went above the call of duty in 2017.
And they will decide which of the rival chefs will be crowned ‘Banquet Champion’, by voting for their favourite dish across each of the three courses.
While the pressure is on in the kitchen, front of house keeping the mulled wine flowing, master maitre’d Fred Sirieix – famous for his appearances in First Dates – will ensure the heroes have a night to remember in the sumptuous surroundings of London’s Merchant Taylors’ Hall.
With fierce competition for the title of ‘Banquet Champion’, Gordon and Gino will get some much needed assistance from some celebrity helpers.
After a fun-fueled ‘blind taste’ challenge, the chefs will choose their three helpers, from a willing line-up of six, entirely on the taste of the dishes they have made. Once selected for Team Gordon or Team Gino, these intrepid celebrities will get a crash course in cooking… in preparation for the banquet.
Gordon said: “I’m looking forward to roasting the chestnuts out of Gino and giving him an absolute stuffing, during our Great Christmas Roast. It’s going to be a lot of fun, but the real prize will be the privilege of cooking a fantastic feast and serving up 3 stunning courses to some truly deserving diners, who I hope will have an amazing night during the final banquet.”
Gino added: “It’s a great honour to cook for so many people who have made a difference in 2017 – I know we’ll make it a night to remember. And it will be a day to remember for Gordon – he’ll need to be on top of his game because my kitchen is going to serve up a menu that will have our diners asking for more!”
And Fred commented: “Christmas is all about giving back and I am delighted to be able to give a little back to those who gave so much in 2017. I will need to stay on my toes though. With Gordon and Gino going head to head – I have a feeling my work is already cut out. May the best chef win!”
Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Great Christmas Roast airs tonight, December 21 at 9pm on ITV.
