Canada’s Drag Race release date as series comes to BBC iPlayer

The second series of Canadian’s Drag Race will air on BBC iPlayer in the UK.

The ten-part series will be showcasing a fine array of vivacious and talented queens and BBC Three will be the only place to view it in the UK – exclusively on iPlayer.

The second series will drop as a ten-part boxset on BBC iPlayer in December 2021, alongside a special anniversary episode with Canada’s First Drag Superstar, Priyanka, looking back at all the highlights of series one.

RuPaul said: “Canada’s Drag Race airing on BBC is further proof that self-expression, creativity and the tenacity of the human spirit resonates around the globe.”

Series two will see 12 Canadian drag artists competing for the title of Canada’s Next Drag Superstar. Each episode will test their talents and challenge them to master singing, dancing, acting, impersonation, costume making and improvisation.

Judging the series are a panel of entertainment industry experts, including Brooke Lynn Hytes, Brad Goreski, Amanda Brugel and Traci Melchor, alongside a weekly celebrity guest.

The queens are: Adriana, Beth, Eve 6000, Gia Metric, Icesis Couture, Kendall Gender, Kimora Amour, Océane Aqua-Black, Pythia, Stephanie Prince, Suki Doll and Synthia Kiss.

As with its US and UK counterparts, in each episode RuPaul delivers his weekly cryptic challenge by Rumail to twelve queens, who all enter the werkroom in the full knowledge that they are entering the Olympics of Drag.

Not only do they need to serve their finest drag looks, but they will need to sing, dance, act, improv, tuck, sew, glue, beat, work in teams, work alone, throw shade, death drop, and lip sync for their lives if they are to avoid the weekly elimination, and hear “shantay you stay”.

BBC Three will release the ten-part series on BBC iPlayer in December 2021.

Series 1 of Canada’s Drag Race is available to watch online on iPlayer now.
