Britain’s Got Talent’s Matt Johnson has top secret plans for his next trick

Britain’s Got Talent escapologist Matt Johnson has top secret plans for the live shows.

Earlier this year the new series kicked off with a true variety act.

We met daredevil 43-year-old Matt Johnson, who is originally from Rotherham but is currently living in Canada.

Matt performed an escapology trick, whilst locked and chained inside a tank filled with water.

It shocked the judges as he battled to free himself but eventually made it out alive.

With four yeses from the panel, Matt was put through to the next round and on Saturday we saw him make the live shows.

As for what he had planned for the semi-final, Matt wouldn’t give much away, but promised something new and something BGT viewers have “never seen before”.

He told the Radio Times magazine: “I can’t tell you. It’s interesting because I’ve got to wait for the reveal rounds to find out if I’m through, but obviously also at the same time I’ve got to work on something to make sure it’s ready if that happens, so I am working on something. It’s something that I’ve never done before.

“But I’m going to keep that one secret. I want people to be excited and feel like they saw something they never seen before. So I can’t tell you anything right now as to what I might do next – I want you to be on the edge of your seat.”

The lucky act who captures the heart and imagination of the British public will secure themselves an incredible £250,000 and the opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance 2018.

Britain’s Got Talent Live Semi-Finals air Monday 28 May to Friday 2 June at 7.30pm on ITV followed by the Live Results show each night at 9.30pm.
