Britain’s Got Talent 2019 begins this Saturday and here are some of the acts that await us.
Ahead of the first round of auditions, the judges have been teasing what’s to come from the series.
From choirs and dance acts, to a group of mysterious aliens and a musician skilled in the classical Russian jaw harp, the Britain’s Got Talent judges have seen it all.
Here are just a handful of the acts to look out for this year…
The magician who takes Amanda
David Walliams revealed of one stand out act this year: “There was a great one in London where Amanda was led down to the depths of the Palladium by a magician. That act was really good and something I’ve never seen before.
“That’s the thing, you’ve always got to think the show’s moving forward so we need something that we’ve never seen before. The worst thing is if we feel we’re standing still or trying to harp back to the past.”
‘One of the spookiest acts ever’
“We didn’t know we were going to be part of this act,” Dec says of the odd performance. “He goes on stage and started talking about how this act can only be done with two people who have a real bond and so because we’ve been working together nearly 30 years he got us on stage.
“We had to sit on separate chairs with our eyes closed so we don’t know what happened. All I know is that I got prodded and everyone was telling us afterwards that he never touched me, he always touched Ant, yet I could feel it!”
He added: We can’t wait to watch it back because everyone was going on about how freaky it was!”
Synchronised skippers
Ant explains: “So this act came on and did synchronised skipping, and we’re stood in the wings thinking how we’ve never seen anything like this before. We’ve had one person do it, but never a huge crew of them doing it to music. So it shows there are still people out there who are willing to try new things.
“It’s great. It’s been great. It’s felt a bit like old school Britain’s Got Talent where people used to just practice their act in their bedroom and then turn up on the show.”
Ant and Dec’s golden buzzer
Without giving too much away, Dec teased: “We just love him! We were chatting to him backstage and he just had the loveliest, sunniest personality ever.
“We were really moved by him so when he was chatting to the judges we were worried one of them was going to nab him for their golden buzzer so when they didn’t we were like, ‘We’ve got to sprint for this!’ and we got him!
“I can’t wait to see him again.”
Ant added: “We fell in love with him before he’d even gone on stage. He’s a real character.”
Britain’s Got Talent’s most dangerous act yet?
The Vardanyan Brothers are aged 28 and 32 from Russia an perform a dangerous balancing act involving swords that leaves the judges speechless.
Simon says of the act: “I almost said you can’t do this because this is the most dangerous act on any ‘Got Talent’ show. It is the most dangerous thing I’ve ever seen.”
Britain’s Got Talent 2019 begins Saturday, April 6 at 7:15PM on ITV.
