Here’s a first look at Britain’s Got Talent 2019 as host Ant and Dec unite.
Filming began today on the 13th series of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent with judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams and presenters Ant and Dec.
It signalled the return to TV for Ant, who stepped down from telly work last Spring halfway through the last series of BGT.
Speaking to the audience before auditions began at the London Palladium, Dec said: “We’ve got the judges back, the golden buzzer is back, and someone else is back.
“My co-host for the series, would you please welcome… Mr Ant McPartlin.”
Ant said: “Hello everyone. Oh god, I’m really really emotional now. I’ve missed you all. As for you (pointing at Dec) I’ve missed you.
“Thank you very much, what a warm welcome. What a great show to come back to, I’m thrilled, I’m over the moon. Shall we move on before I cry?”
Simon said: “Ant welcome back. We missed you; it wasn’t the same. I mean even though Dec was brilliant, it still wasn’t the same. It would be like me not being with David, I would be happy, but not happy – if that makes sense.
“So on behalf of all of us, welcome back, we’re family. (Turns to audience) You are family!”
Today was the first day of filming auditions for the new series in London, before the judges head to Manchester next month.
As always, there will be a live crowd at every venue acting as the show’s fifth judge to help the panel make their decisions and making sure the judges know when they disagree with their choices. Free tickets to be in the audience are available from Applause Store
Britain’s Got Talent 2019 will start on TV later this year.
The series typically begins in April, airing Saturday nights through the Spring.
