TV host Ben Shephard says his wife has banned him from Strictly Come Dancing.
The telly favourite has claimed he was approached by Strictly bosses to join this year’s show.
But his partner was apparently unhappy with him taking part because of the so-called Strictly curse.
He appeared on This Morning: “I did get asked this year but I can’t do it unfortunately because she doesn’t want to have an affair.”
Hosting alongside former Strictly star Mollie King, who took part in last year’s series, Ben quipped: “I think she’s being very short-sighted!”
While Ben can be ruled out of Strictly, there have been loads of rumoured stars.
They include a trio of former popstars: Ex-Blue singer Lee Ryan, Pussycat Dolls performer Ashley Roberts and Steps singer Faye Tozer.
The Strictly 2018 cast is also set to see its first YouTuber with vlogger Joe Sugg, brother of fellow online celeb Zoella, set to take to the dancefloor.
Also said to have signed up for the cast this week are BBC News journalist Kate Silverton, This Morning’s Dr Ranj, Capital FM radio DJ and TV presenter Vick Hope.
More rumoured names Strictly Come Dancing bosses could sign this year include TV personality Anneka Rice, football pundit Chris Kamara and Radio DJ Maya Jama.
A spokesperson for the BBC said: “We don’t comment on speculation and the full line-up is coming soon.”
Strictly Come Dancing hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman have revealed they would be announcing the first celeb on Monday (August 13).
Tess posted a picture of herself alongside Claudia, captioning the snap: “Got to snuggle up to this one today @amiclaudiawinkleman.”
Claudia herself wrote: “First day on Strictly. Tess and I are about to be told who’s taking part. I’ll let you know…”
Tess then added: “So excited for our first day back to work @bbcstrictly PLUS we found out the new celeb cast for STRICTLY 2018! Can’t wait to share it with you…!#strictly.”
Strictly Come Dancing begins on BBC One in September with its pre-recorded launch show.
