Who left The Apprentice 2017 in tonight’s results? Here’s a recap of Episode 2!
In this evening’s show, the candidates were summoned to Stoke Park, an impressive five-star hotel, where Lord Sugar made a grand entrance via helicopter to reveal the second task facing the budding entrepreneurs this week.
The candidates were given the opportunity to let their creative juices flow and try their hand at interior design as they were tasked with making over a bedroom, before pitching their finished design to the hotel manager and an industry expert.
Each had a budget of £13,000 to not only makeover the room but also turn a profit and win the potential business of the hotel.
The Apprentice 2017 results
On the Girls’ Team Graphene, Bushra was Project Manager with Siobhan, Michaela, Jade, Joanna, Sarah-Jayne, Elizabeth, Anisa, and Sarah. They Spent £5,675, leaving a profit of £7,325 (56% margin).
On the Boys’ Team Vitality, Ross was PM with Andrew, Harrison, James, Charles, Elliot, Jeff and Sajan. They spent £11,495 leaving a profit of £1,505 (12% margin).
Lord Sugar had plenty to criticise about both teams’ rooms, suggesting the girls had spent too little and the boys too much.
The boss declared the Girls’ Team Graphene as the winners, however Lord Sugar told the group not to get too excited about the victory – “It’s not a case of I liked it more, I hated it less.”
In the boardroom, Project Manager Ross faced the firing line alongside James and Jeff.
Lord Sugar concluded: “I’m going to summarise and here’s how I see things. James, the furniture in my opinion is the biggest thing, and also we had this issue of not making enough margin. I think you’re certainly delinquent in that area.
“Ross, I’m not sure whether you had the bull by the horns here. You should have been on that side of the team listening to what the hotel manager wanted and seeing what was being purchased, putting your input there.”
“Jeff, you certainly talk well, but you’ve not been clear in telling me what you’ve done this week, let alone last week. But in my personal opinion, James, the furniture was the most important element of this task.
“Having said all that, I have the feeling, Ross, I’ve got a little bit of a dilemma here, but despite your high qualifications, Jeff, I wouldn’t trust you with a hotel in Monopoly”.
“Jeff – you’re fired!”
Jeff will talk to Rhod Gilbert on You’re Fired! on BBC Two at 10pm together with guests Hal Cruttenden – comedian, Grace Dent – journalist and Juliet Kinsman – Luxury Travel Expert.
The Apprentice 2017 continues next Wednesday 18th October, 9pm on BBC One and BBC One HD
