Ant and Dec working on new car show for BBC Two

Ant and Dec are working on a brand new car show for BBC Two.

The pair have teamed up with production company Studio Lambert for a pilot episode provisionally titled Street Car Showdown.

Ant and Dec, who it turns out have a long held fascination with the world of car modifiers, will act as creative consultants on the series.

Described as a “high-octane” entertainment competition show, Street Car Showdown will see two rival teams from across the country challenged to turn ordinary second hand cars into souped-up racing machines.

They’ll be given a limited budget and just 10 days to make their transformations before going head to head in a series of challenges in a bid to be crowned Street Car Showdown Champions.

Ant and Dec said: “We have been fascinated with this world since we were teenagers in the North East and experienced car modders meeting up on Roker seafront in Sunderland to show off their creations.

“We came up with the format to shine a light onto the untapped world of car fanatics and highlight their passion, talent and creativity. We are great admirers of the team at Studio Lambert and are thrilled to be partnering with them on this project.”

Stephen Lambert, CEO Studio Lambert, added: “We were delighted when Mitre asked us to work with them on developing Ant and Dec’s fun, adrenalin-filled idea and producing it with them.”

A pilot is being filmed for BBC Two.
