Britain’s Got Talent 2018 star Amanda Holden won’t be quitting any time soon – as she wants to ‘spin out’ her time on the show.
Amanda is the only judge that has appeared on all twelve series of the ITV talent contest in their entirety.
Despite this, her future on the panel is the subject of speculation almost every year.
Indeed, Amanda herself suggested before BGT’s milestone tenth anniversary that it would be a good time to quit.
“I would love to make it ten and then I will probably call it a day,” she said at the time. “I think ten years is an amazing feat.”
Three years on, the actress has had a change of attitude – and now wants to hang on to her job for as long as possible.
“I thought 10 years sounded good, but I’m over that now!” she told the Sunday Express.
“I’m going to spin it out for as long as I can. I appreciate my job, I’m really grateful.”
One reason Amanda wants to stay is the chemistry she shares with fellow judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.
“I think the relationship between the judges works, too,” she added. “Until that breaks there’s no point in changing it.
“It’s a different feel to The X Factor; it’s much more family based and warmer.”
The foursome are one of the longest-serving judging panels on a TV talent show, having appeared together every year since 2012.
Amanda’s comments came as the current series of Britain’s Got Talent reached its semi-finals stage.
Among the 40 acts competing in the live shows is her Golden Buzzer act, opera singer Gruffydd Wyn Roberts.
BGT continues every night until Friday at 7.30pm and 9.30pm on ITV, ahead of Sunday’s grand final.
