Alexandra Burke fans show their support after her shock Strictly dance off

Fans of Alexandra Burke have rallied around the singer after last night’s Strictly Come Dancing results.

Alexandra was in the bottom two in last night’s Strictly Come Dancing 2017 results.

It was the second time in the dance off in as many weeks for Alexandra, despite being top of the scoreboard.

The result means Alexandra would have had to be bottom of the public votes after topping the judges’ marks on Saturday night.

The former X Factor winner has had a tough time from some viewers, who have accused her of already being a professional dancer.

The singer has also been slammed for a supposedly ‘cocky’ attitude and ‘over the top’ emotions on the show.

However last night her fans hit back to defend the performer.

“Why so much hate towards Alexandra? Imagine yourself dancing for millions of people every Saturday only to come back with everyone bashing you on Twitter and hating. Leave her alone #Strictly2017” one wrote online last night.

Another posted to Twitter: “The Alexandra Burke haters should be bloody ashamed of themselves as its having an effect on the public vote #Strictly”

And a third commented: “Sometimes I hate being a part of the British public and reading all the horrible things people are saying about Alexandra without any consideration for how it might be affecting her… really don’t understand what people get out of being so disgustingly horrible #Strictly”

A fourth fan concluded simply: “Top of the leaderboard and in the dance off, the British public are a spiteful bunch. #Alexandra #strictly2017”

After being saved by the judges, Alexandra is through to next weekend’s semi-final.

Strictly Come Dancing returns Saturday and Sunday night on BBC One.
