Eurovision 2018 is on its way for 2018 and with days to go, here are all the important details for the UK…

Eurovision 2018 date

The dates of the Eurovision Song Contest have been confirmed for Portugal later this year.

The 63rd Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Lisbon throughout the second week of May as usual.

The Semi Finals were took place earlier this week on Tuesday and Thursday.

The Eurovision 2018 Final date is 12 May and will air live on BBC One from 8pm.

UK’s 2018 Eurovision act Surie

Rylan Clark-Neal has joined the hosting team for Eurovision 2018. He will join radio DJ Scott Mills to commentate on the semi-finals live from Lisbon.

Once again, Graham Norton will be in charge of the main ceremony where Mel Giedroyc will reveal the points given by the United Kingdom.

Finally, Ken Bruce will cover the show on BBC Radio 2.

Eurovision 2018 contestants

In the first semi-final, Austria, Estonia, Cyprus Lithuania, Israel, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Albania, Finland and Ireland all qualified.

In the second semi-final, Serbia, Moldova, Hungary, Ukraine, Sweden, Australia, Norway, Denmark, Slovenia and The Netherlands all qualified.

They join Portugal, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom in the final.

UK Eurovision entry 2018

The UK Eurovision entry 2018 was confirmed in February and singer SuRie will be representing us in Portugal in May.

The UK Eurovision song selection contest this year saw six prospective acts performing for the honour of representing the United Kingdom at Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal.

Hosted by Mel Giedroyc and winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, Måns Zelmerlöw, the selection show aired on BBC Two and saw a jury of industry experts and viewer votes decide the winner.

SuRie and her song Storm, written by Nicole Blair, Gil Lewis and Sean Hargreaves, will head to Lisbon in May after being chosen in the live show.

SuRie is an actress and singer who is no stranger to the Eurovision Song Contest, appearing as a backing singer for Loïc Nottet in 2015 and Blanche at Eurovision 2017.

She said about her song: “Storm is a smash! It’s a dynamic combination of a more intimate, piano lead, singer songwriter style start, building into this anthemic, soulful pop party!”
