ITV documentary The Real Camilla was watched by over 3 million viewers on ITV last night.
The special documentary averaged 3.1 million in the 9PM hour, the most watched show on the channel outside of the soaps.
ITV said the one-off was the first full profile documentary with access to the Duchess. The programme included scenes shot in Clarence House decorating the royal Christmas tree and welcoming pensioners for tea, rainy walks in Scotland with her beloved Jack Russell terriers and dancing to Elvis tracks with HRH The Prince of Wales.
As usual in the week, it was the soaps that topped the night's ratings. Coronation Street averaged 6.8 million and 6.2 million for its two episodes - both down slightly week-on-week.
Emmerdale had 5.9 million on ITV with Give It A Year, Karren Brady's new business show, averaging 2.8 million for its second episode.
On BBC One, EastEnders was watched by 5 million, a drop of 700,000 viewers on last week, while DIY SOS had 2.6 million viewers in the 9PM slot against ITV, up 300,000.
Elsewhere, BBC Two's quiz shows Only Connect and University Challenge both averaged 2 and 2.6 million viewers respectively for their new episodes.
And on Channel 4, Richard Ayoade's Travel Man and The Island with Bear Grylls both interested just less than 2 million viewers.
