Last Saturday evening (November 2) saw the second live episode of the new series.

11 acts performed live before two were eliminated in the latest Celebrity X Factor results.

It was soap stars Jonny and Victoria Ekanoye who left The Celebrity X Factor in a double elimination.

They had been in the bottom three alongside TV journalist Martin Bashir, who was saved for a second week running.

Speaking this week, Jonny thanked fans for their support as he admitted he was shocked to have been eliminated.

He told the Metro newspaper: “It has been a crazy week to be fair, the reaction has been one of the most warming and incredible reactions from anything I have ever done.”

Jonny added: “I scroll through my DMs on Instagram and people are being so warm and supportive and it makes me think that everything happens for the right reasons. Obviously, I am sad to go, it was a shock.”

Despite leaving – and receiving some harsh comments from Simon Cowell – Jonny was full of praise for his time on the show.

“I felt like I had a lot more to give and I had things that I had planned to do but you have to take it week by week, the judges can’t just sit there and praise every act,” he explained. “However, now I can work on things I want to do and I feel really excited about it.

“I have reached out to some people in the industry about collaborations but I don’t want to say who just yet.

“I have walked away with more than I could ever have dreamed of.”

Elsewhere in Saturday’s show, each of the judges had been given a safe seat to send one act straight through to next weekend’s show.

Simon saved Love Island supergroup No Love Lost, Louis Walsh saved Kevin McHale and Nicole Scherzinger opted not to save one of her own acts, instead saving rugby trio Try Star.

Together with Martin, they’re joined in the competition by reality TV personality Megan McKenna, footballer turned actor Vinnie Jones, The Chase’s Jenny Ryan, social media influencers V5 and duo Max & Harvey.
