Dannii Minogue says she’s NEVER been asked to return to The X Factor judging panel

Aussie singer hasn't heard from producers since she left nine years ago

Former The X Factor judge Dannii Minogue has sensationally claimed that producers have NEVER invited her back.

Dannii joined Simon Cowell’s singing contest in 2007 – becoming the first female judge to win – before leaving in 2010.

She proved a fan favourite during her four-year stint, and has since been rumoured for a return on multiple occasions.

Most recently, reports suggested she could feature on the upcoming ‘All Stars’ spin-off after Simon considered bringing back past judges as well as contestants.

However, it seems these stories were just as much of a surprise to Dannii as they were to everyone else.

Speaking to Radio Times, she revealed that X Factor bosses haven’t approached her once in the nine years since her depature.

“I see articles come up every year saying there’s rumours that I’m returning,” she commented. “Honestly, I’ve never received a call from any of the producers.

“Sometimes I’ll get a message from a fan saying, ‘Are you coming back? Is that good news, will we see you again?’

“And I’ll be like, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about, no-one’s contacted me!’ Honestly, it’s not been in my head since.”

While Dannii praised The X Factor, saying mentoring contestants makes it “the most rewarding show”, she found her stint draining.

The ‘I Begin To Wonder’ singer, who notoriously had a feud with fellow judge Sharon Osbourne, admitted she contemplated quitting showbusiness after she left.

“If people have opinions on you that you can’t change, you’ve got to try and let that go,” she said. “I had the opinion of the whole country, and I felt sometimes that that opinion was so skewed.

“It really got to a point where I was just happy to bow out, and not be part of entertainment anymore.

“I’m glad that it evolved and that it turned around and I was able to come back and still do my job. It’s not in my personality to walk away and give up on something.”

While The X Factor UK may have avoided Dannii, she did judge the Australian version between 2013 and 2015.

Two years later, she returned to British telly on Gary Barlow’s BBC One talent search Let It Shine.

Dannii currently appears as one of the panellists on The Masked Singer Australia.

Paula Abdul will now reportedly join Simon and Louis Walsh on The X Factor All-Stars, airing later this year.
