Celebrity X Factor: Megan McKenna’s original song soars up the charts

Megan McKenna’s original song from The X Factor: Celebrity live shows has soared up the iTunes charts.

Saturday evening (October 26) saw the first live episode of the new Celebrity X Factor, which welcomes familiar faces from the worlds of music, film, sport, television and social media to compete for a life-changing recording contract.

Megan performed an original song called This which received glowing praise from judges Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh.

The performance saw Megan sail through to the next live show and now her track is heading up the charts.

All of the live performances from Saturday’s episode are available to download and stream, with Megan’s song This currently at Number 2 on iTunes at the time of writing.

The former TOWIE star is currently outselling the likes of Maroon 5 and Selena Gomez with her record.

Meanwhile, Love Island super group No Love Lost are at Number 33 with All or Nothing, another original song.

The two acts are the only ones in the Top 100 of the iTunes chart as things stand.

Following all of the performances on Saturday’s show, each judge was able to sent one act straight through to next weekend’s episode.

In the Groups, Simon saved rugby Trio Try Star (Thom Evans, Ben Foden and Levi Davis), in the Unders, Louis saved Jonny Labey and in the Overs, Nicole saved Jenny Ryan.

The remaining acts faced the public vote.

It was Chat show host Ricki Lake and American actress Olivia Olson who left The Celebrity X Factor in a double elimination. They were in the bottom three with Martin Bashir.

The X Factor: Celebrity series continues Saturday nights on ITV.

The next round of live performances airs next weekend on November 2 from 8:30PM.
