The X Factor’s new Celebrity spin-off welcomes faces from the worlds of music, film, sport, television and social media to compete for a life changing record deal.

Saturday night saw the top 12 contestants in the live shows confirmed with each of the three judges – Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh – picking four acts for their categories.

Nicole was in charge of the Overs and her decisions proved a surprise as she sent home The Chase star Jenny Ryan despite a stand out audition.

However it seems the viewer backlash has prompted a rethink, with Jenny now a part of the live shows.

Jenny said today: “I’ve loved every moment of The X Factor and I’m delighted to be able to get the opportunity to perform live.

“The response from the public has been amazing – what an incredible experience. I’m so pleased it’s continuing!”

Her mentor Nicole added: “Jenny was just brilliant at her audition in LA. That voice of hers is one of a kind, and she’s an amazing person to get to know.

“So it was such a tough decision to make. After a lot of discussion we all agreed we had to put her through. The Overs are gonna smash it this year!”

Jenny joins Nicole’s Overs category alongside Coronation Street actress Victoria Ekanoye, American actress & chat show host Ricki Lake, TV newsreader and journalist Martin Bashir and footballer turned actor Vinnie Jones.

Meanwhile, Simon is mentoring the Groups made up of rugby trio Try Star, the Love Islanders, five piece V5 and duo Max & Harvey.

They’re joined by Louis and the Unders: EastEnders actor Jonny Labey, Glee star Kevin McHale, actress Olivia Olson and reality TV personality Megan McKenna.

The X Factor: Celebrity live shows will start next weekend from Saturday, October 26 at 8:20PM on ITV.
