This weekend saw The X Factor semi-final as six acts became three for next week’s final.

Last night (Saturday) saw the first two contestants leave in the latest X Factor 2018 results in a surprise double exit.

The acts performed twice for the judges and viewers before a short flash vote to determine the two bottom placed singers. Those with the fewest votes were Danny Tetley and Brendan Murray who were eliminated immediately.

The remaining trio went forward to Sunday’s show where they performed again before duo Acacia & Aaliyah were voted off in tonight’s X Factor results.

In this evening’s episode, the final four acts all performed live one last time before voting lines closed.

Host Dermot O’Leary then revealed the top two acts with the most votes through to the final as Dalton Andre Harris and Anthony Russell.

That left Scarlett Lee and Acacia & Aaliyah in the bottom two with the fewest votes from the public.

They went forward to the sing-off where Acacia & Aaliyah performed Stormzy’s Blinded by Your Grace Part 2. Scarlett then sang This Is Me from The Greatest Showman soundtrack.

It was then over to the judges to decide who would join Dalton and Anthony in the final.

Unsurprisingly, Simon Cowell and Robbie Williams both backed their own acts, sending through Scarlett and Acacia & Aaliyah to the final respectively.

Ayda Williams then sent Scarlett through to the final leaving Louis Tomlinson with the final vote. He also backed Scarlett, sending her into next weekend’s final.

As a result, Acacia & Aaliyah were eliminated while Scarlett is in The X Factor final with Dalton and Anthony.

Elsewhere in tonight’s show, there was a guest performance from pop singer Zara Larsson.

The X Factor 2018 final takes place live next weekend on December 1 and 2 on ITV live from Wembley Arena. Both shows start at 7:30PM.
