X Factor results: SHOCK exit has left viewers fuming

Tonight’s X Factor 2018 results have caused quite a bit of controversy.

The X Factor went live for the fifth time this weekend with a Big Band themed show.

Two acts were eliminated in the X Factor 2018 results tonight as both Bella Penfold and Shan Ako got the boot.

Bella was automatically sent home after polling the least public votes while Shan faced Acacia & Aaliyah in the sing-off after receiving the next fewest votes from viewers.

After they sang again, the judges decided who to save with Ayda Williams and guest judge Nile Rodgers – standing in for Robbie – keeping Acacia & Aaliyah. Simon Cowell and Louis Tomlinson saved Shan. With the judges’ vote tied, the result went back to the viewer vote where Shan was eliminated.

It was a truly shock outcome giving Shan had been a favourite to win and Acacia & Aaliyah were in the sing-off for a third time.

Many slammed the result, and in particular accused Ayda of saving her husband’s act.

“Was loving X Factor&then Robbie’s wife takes it to deadlock. Conflict of interest. Three weeks running they’re saved those girls #xfactor,” wrote @Rachel_Rice9

@_LucasMichael_ reacted: “Is this some sort of sick joke? #XFactor”

@NathanGrisdale added: “Wow wow wow how has Shan just been sent home WTF! This is crazy she’s amazing. It seem like Ayda is just sticking with robbies act!! #Xfactor”

“shan has gone home just because ayda doesn’t have the balls to vote against her husband’s act. THIS IS WHY YOU DON’T HAVE COUPLES AS JUDGES. #XFactor,” @michailawlms posted.

Agreed @Broadleym77: “There was no way Ayda was sending her husbands last act home. Fuming ?”

And @traceycardlette concluded: “Unbelievable! #XFactor has just lost one of the best vocalists they’ve had.”
