Sunday’s X Factor 2018 results have caused a lot of anger online.

The X Factor went live for the fourth time this weekend with a Movie themed show.

Two acts were eliminated in the X Factor 2018 results last night as both Giovanni Spano and Misunderstood got the boot.

Duo Misunderstood were automatically sent home after polling the least public votes while Gio faced Acacia & Aaliyah in the sing-off after receiving the next fewest votes from viewers.

After they sang again, the judges decided who to save with Louis Tomlinson, Simon Cowell and guest judge Nile Rodgers – standing in for Robbie – keeping Acacia & Aaliyah. As a result, Gio was eliminated after only his mentor Ayda Williams voted to save him.

Both results proved to be shockers, with host Dermot O’Leary revealing that the those in the bottom two had switched numerous times in a very close vote.

When it came to the sing-off decision, most viewers seemed to think the judges got it wrong after Acacia & Aaliyah were saved for a second week running.

There were a lot of angry replies to The X Factor Twitter after they asked if the right act went, with one writing simply: “Wrong!!! So incredibly wrong!!”

Another fumed: “Honestly this show is a joke ! A&A should of gone home Gio was fab!”

“NO NO NO WAY! Acacia and Aaliyah should’ve gone home! I am fuming?,” raged a third irate fan of the show.

A fourth claimed: “Gio was basically the only entertainment in X-factor. The girls should have gone 100%”

And another concluded: “Nòoooooooo!!! Sorry, but sending Gio home is a HUGE MISTAKE!!!”

Despite the outrage, the competition continues with Acacia & Aaliyah joining seven more acts left in the contest.
