X Factor results: Viewers slam sing-off decision as two more contestants leave

Sunday’s X Factor 2018 results have caused quite a bit of controversy.

The X Factor went live for the third time this weekend with a Halloween themed show.

Two acts were eliminated in the X Factor 2018 results last night as both Molly Scott and United Vibe got the boot.

United Vibe was automatically sent home after polling the least public votes while Molly faced Acacia & Aaliyah in the sing-off after receiving the next fewest votes from viewers.

After they sang again, the judges decided who to save with Louis Tomlinson, Ayda Williams and guest judge Nile Rodgers – standing in for Robbie – keeping Acacia & Aaliyah. As a result, Molly was eliminated after only her mentor Simon Cowell voted to save her.

While there was little upset – and even some delight – at United Vibe’s departure, Molly’s exit prompted complaints.

“United vibe was right to go. But to get rid of Molly over the 2 girls was terrible decision #XFactor,” one viewer posted to Twitter.

“Was I watching a different sing off then or?? Molly should have stayed 1000% #xfactor,” another agreed.

A third snapped: “acacia and the other one were literally just shouting in an accent. molly slayed those vocals and can actually sing. joke #XFactor”

More angry comments included: “Are they deaf? Molly gave a near flawless performance showing such emotion. All the girls did was shout ??‍♀️ #xfactor”

Others rallied around Molly after her exit, with one tweeting: “@mollyscottXF Molly!!! You’re a stunning performer you are gonna be a star! #XFactor”

After the show, Molly herself spoke out and tweeted: “I just would like to thank everyone for all the support! I would not have been able to do this without all of you amazing people. MY DREAM HAS CAME TRUE! I’ve tried my hardest every week … Love you all❤️❤️”
