X Factor 2018 contestants: See the 16 finalists in the live shows

The X Factor contestants in the live shows have been confirmed – and here’s your first look at their makeovers.

This year a total of sixteen acts have made it through to the final stage of the competition.

Each of the judges have put four contestant through after judges’ houses at the weekend.

In the Girls category mentored by Simon Cowell are Bella Penfold, 19 from Essex, Molly Scott, 16 from County Durham, Scarlett Lee, 20 from Surrey and Shan, 25 from Croydon.

Simon said: “It’s four this year because I just went, ‘What is the downside of having four rather than three?’ There’s no downside.

“I really did just think there’s no way I can just put three through, I just can’t.”

In the Boys category mentored by Louis Tomlinson are Anthony Russell, 28 from Liverpool, Armstrong Martins, 23 from London, Brendan Murray, 21 from Galway and Dalton Andre Harris, 24 from Jamaica.

He said: “No cockiness, honestly, I think I’ve got the winner. I really do.

“I think I’ve got this level of respect and understanding with my, I’m not even going to call them contestants, with my artists. I just want to do different things with them.”

In the Overs category mentored by Ayda Williams are Danny Tetley, 37 from Bradford, Giovanni Spano, 33 from London, Janice Robinson, 50 from USA and Olatunji Yearwood, 32 from Trinidad and Tobago.

Ayda said of her category: “I’m tired of the bottled up pop prince or pop princesses who come packaged in a Barbie or Ken doll and has perfect hair or perfect teeth and is 16.

“I’m looking for something way more interesting than that.

“I think the world needs some heroes and some entertainers that don’t fit into that category, I think we have got to celebrate something that goes past the surface.”

Finally, in the Groups mentored by Robbie Williams are A* made up of Acacia, 15 and Aaliyah, 14 from London, LMA Choir, 18-40 from Liverpool, Misunderstood made up of Stef, 25 and Jeff, 27 both from London and Vibe 5 made up of Kieran 22, Jack 17, Jon 18, Blaise 17 and Elliot 18.

Robbie Williams advised his finalists: “Fully commit. Whatever it is, fully commit. Leave it all out there.

“It’s all about a positive mental attitude. If you can’t have that, learn how to lie very quickly.”

The X Factor 2018 live shows begin at 8:25PM on Saturday, October 20.

The first results air at 8PM on Sunday, October 21.
