Cheryl is rumoured to be headlining The X Factor 2018 live shows this year.
Cheryl is due to unveil new music this Autumn, four years since she released her last album 'Only Human'.
It was claimed that TV programmes had been fighting to get Cheryl on their shows, but she'll "remain loyal" to The X Factor.
Cheryl was a judge on the show between 2008 and 2010 and then again between 2014 and 2015.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Inevitably, all of the big TV shows have been fighting to get Cheryl’s first performance as it will be a huge ratings winner.
“But she has decided to remain loyal to The X Factor rather than give the exclusive to its rival, BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.
“And Cheryl will be pulling out all of the stops to make sure that this is one of her most talked-about performances to date.”
Cheryl's new single is rumoured to be called Love Made Me Do It and apparently alludes to her recent split from One Direction's Liam Payne.
The album's release will follow next year, according to Cheryl who spilled the news while filming new TV talent show The Greatest Dancer.
An audience member shared on Twitter last month: "3 Things we’ve learnt about #C5 from @CherylOfficial at #GreatestDancer audition.
"1) There will be at least 2 singles released, 2) First single is upbeat, second single has ‘Call My Name’ vibes, 3) One will be released in October."
Cheryl joins Matthew Morrison and Oti Mabuse as 'Dance Captains' on The Greatest Dancer, which will start next year.
The programme is produced by Simon Cowell's Syco company together with the makers of Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor.
But it will air on BBC One, tipped to begin on Saturday nights in January.
Speaking about her new role, Cheryl said: "I’m so excited to be part of The Greatest Dancer! I’m looking for acts with real passion, who are going to push boundaries and give it their all.
"From my own dance background, I know the dedication and commitment dancing takes. I can’t wait to get started."
