Here's a throwback to Scarlett Lee's original audition on The X Factor last year.

20-year-old Make-up Artist Scarlett from Epsom made it as far as the six chair challenge in 2017's series.

"It was heartbreaking, it took me so long to get over but it's only made me stronger," she said returning at this year's auditions. "I hope Simon looks back and says 'This girl has improved'... probably not, he'll probably say 'That's the orange girl!'"

She added: "I feel like there's more pressure on me this time around but I feel I've worked hard enough, I just hope the judges see potential."

Talking to the judges, of which only Simon Cowell remains from last year, Scarlett explained: "I feel [last year] was like me figuring out myself.

"I was grateful to be sent away because I realised who I am as a person."

In front of Simon, plus new judges Ayda Williams, Robbie Williams and Louis Tomlinson, Scarlett sang original song 'Survival' which she described as her "fight song".

But Simon quickly stopped the track, remarking: "This must be the sixth time I've heard you sing, I'm not sure there's going to be another time. That was a four, I want a ten."

Given one last shot, Scarlett sang Loren Allred's Never Enough from hit musical The Greatest Showman. It got a much better reaction with four yeses from the judges.

This evening, Scarlett performed for a place at judges' houses as she returned to the Six Chair Challenge.

"I haven't got it in me to be knocked back again," Scarlett declares defiantly tonight. "I want that chair more than anything in this whole planet.

"I need this and I'm going to do whatever it takes to get it."

Scarlett sings Kelly Clarkson's Piece by Piece, announcing to Simon: "I've come back to prove to you and the whole nation that I am ready and I feel like I deserve one of those chairs to make my dreams come true."

Scarlett's fate will be revealed in Sunday night's show.

The X Factor continues at 8PM on ITV, September 30.
