Giovanni Spano

Giovanni Spano split The X Factor 2018 judges in tonight's latest auditions.

Try outs returned this evening at Wembley Arena on ITV from 8:25PM.

Louis Tomlinson, Ayda Williams, Robbie Williams and Simon Cowell make up the panel for the 15th series.

One of the acts we met on Saturday is 33 year old West End performer Giovanni Spano from Ruislip, London.

He told cameras: "My passion for rock music started at the age of 8. My goal in music is to make everyone feel like they're a superstar. Music is music and if something captures you than you're in.

"It captures the soul and hopefully I get some of these teenyboppers rocking out. Hopefully everybody has a singsong. Hopefully everybody dances."

Giovanni opted to sing The Spencer Davis Group's- Gimme Some Lovin' but Simon wasn't too impressed.

"This isn't working for me," he lamented. "what does this mean to you? To get through and win?"

Giovanni replied: "Music has been a massive part of my life, the way it makes me feel is like no other feeling. Standing in front of you guys now feels absolutely amazing."

Given a second chance, Giovanni sang The Goo Goo Dolls's Iris.

It got Simon on board alongside Ayda and Robbie - but Louis said no.

However it was enough yeses for Giovanni to make it through to the next stage where they'll find out if they've made it into the six chair challenge.

Other contestants this weekend include Tom Richards, who previously auditioned in 2010 with Louis Tomlinson, and Armstrong Martins who puts a spin on a High School Musical classic.

Those who make the cut will join last week's successful acts including Maria Laroco, a 17-year-old Student who had flown in from the Philippines and returning act, Scarlett Lee. The 20-year-old Make-up Artist from Surrey first auditioned for the show in 2017 but bowed out at the six chair challenge stage.

The X Factor 2018 is back tonight, Saturday 15 September 8:35PM on ITV.
