X Factor winner Matt Terry set to become a judge (in a different country)

X Factor winner Matt Terry could be set to join the show as a judge.

But Louis Walsh needn't worry about losing his chair on the panel (again).

Instead of the British show, Matt is being lined up to appear on the series in "a different country"

Matt told The Sun newspaper: “I have been asked to be a judge in a different country. I can’t say which, because it’s not confirmed, but I’m very excited."

The reigning Champion explained:“I’d love it to go ahead. I’ve been where the contestants are so I could give them really valuable mentoring.

“I think I’d be quite good at it.”

As it happens, Matt wouldn't be the first of last year's finalists to become an X Factor judge elsewhere in the world.

Saara Aalto, who finished as runner up behind Matt, is set to join the panel of the Finnish version of the show.

If The X Factor doesn't work out for Matt, he previously revealed another career ambition.

In an interview earlier this year, 2016 champ Matt said he wanted to join rival show The Voice UK as a coach.

Chatting to Star magazine about taking on more reality shows like Big Brother or I'm A Celebrity, Matt said: "Reality isn't my thing. I'd love to be a judge on The Voice, though.

"It would be good to experience it from the other side."

Matt's comments come as his fellow X Factor alumni Olly Murs signs up for the new ITV series.

Olly will replace Gavin Rossdale on the line up alongside Will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson and Sir Tom Jones.
