X Factor fans want the bottom two sing-off back

The X Factor fans have been calling for the bottom two sing off to return.

This year has seen a brand new format for the live shows where the sing off has been replaced with a prize fight.

Viewer votes now decide alone who goes and instead the top two acts sing off in a bid to win a special prize each week.

The contestants this year have also been performing on separate nights in their categories, with the Overs and Girls latest to perform on Sunday.

It was Rai-Elle Williams and Holly who were next to be voted off the show, in a second double eviction for the weekend.

They followed in the footsteps of duo Sea and Conor and Sam Black who were eliminated on Saturday night following the Boys and Groups’ performances.

Meanwhile, Rak-Su beat Grace Davies to win studio time in LA with a top songwriter.

The sing-off switch doesn’t seem to have won over many fans of the show, who want more drama.

“Dear @TheXFactor ,what is the point of the prize sing off? Bring back the SURVIVAL sing off! Saturday’s lowest vs Sunday’s lowest??#xfactor” one viewer suggested.

Another agreed: “@TheXFactor WE DON’T WANT PRIZE FIGHT! BRING BACK THE SING OFF & THE OLD FORMAT! ? #XFactor #TheXFactor #XFactor2017”

“Cutting out the sing off was a mistake. It was the one moment which had some drama,” added a third on Twitter.

A fourth concurred: “What is the point in this ‘prize fight’. No one cares who wins. Much better when the sing off was for a place in next weeks show #xfactor #TheXFactor #prizefight”

Unfortunately with the competition now entering the semi-final stages we won’t be getting the sing-off back, this year at least.
