Strictly Come Dancing 2017 - TX 7 LIVE SHOW

Strictly Come Dancing 2017 had more than double the viewers of The X Factor last night.

However both shows dropped slightly on last Saturday's ratings, according to the latest overnight viewing figures.

On BBC One, the seventh round of live Strictly Come Dancing performances ran between 6:50PM and 8:20PM as the ten remaining celebrity couples all showcased their latest routines.

An average audience of 10.5 million viewers tuned in, down 200,000 viewers week on week but still the second highest numbers of the series to date.

A whopping peak audience of more than 11.4 million viewers watched the live show, which was up around 700,000 viewers on 2016's equivalent episode.

Over on ITV, The X Factor's second round of live shows began between 8:20PM and 10:05PM as the Groups and Boys performed.

The live episode averaged 5.1 million, down 100,000 viewers week on week and around 700,000 below 2016's second live show. However it did bounce back from last Sunday's all time low of 4.6 million viewers.

A peak audience of 5.8 million viewers tuned in half way through last night's X Factor, which featured the latest live performances, the next elimination and a guest appearance from BGT winner Tokio Myers.

Both Strictly and The X Factor will return to TV tonight. This evening's Strictly Come Dancing's results - which were pre-recorded last night - will run between 7:15PM and 8PM.

The X Factor meanwhile will be running slightly earlier, getting a head start as it airs between 7:05PM and 9PM, clashing not only with Strictly but also Blue Planet II.

This time the Girls and Overs will perform, there will be another elimination and Rita Ora will be performing.

Elsewhere last night, before The X Factor on ITV, neither You've Been Framed nor a repeat a of Ninja Warrior UK could break the 2 million viewer barrier.

Meanwhile, on BBC One, new three part drama Gunpowder rose to 3.3 million viewers for its final episode - a climb of 300,000 week-on-week but down the opening figure of 4.8 million
