A lot of X Factor's finalists won't be around for long with a series of 'brutal' eliminations lined up for the live shows.
At the weekend we saw the final 12 revealed with three acts from each category through to the lives and one step closer to becoming the winner of The X Factor.
Simon's Groups are: Rak-Su, The CutKelvins and Sean and Conor Price.
Sharon's Girls are: Grace Davies, Rai-Elle Williams and Holly Tandy.
Louis' Boys are: Kevin Davy White, Matt Linnen and Tracy Leanne Jefford.
Nicole's Boys are: Lloyd Macey, Spencer Sutherland and Sam Black.
However they won't be alone in the competition with four wild card acts - one in each category - joining them via a now closed public vote.
It means a total of 16 contestants but this year there are just six weekends of live shows.
In order to get numbers down, there will be a series of 'brutal' eliminations in the first two weeks.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "With 16 contestants and only six weeks of live shows to get through, the eliminations are going to be coming thick and fast.
“But this is set to be a very harsh introduction to The X Factor process with so many heading home so quickly."
The insider added that plans were still being finalised despite the live shows starting on Saturday.
Now-removed details on the official X Factor website had suggested we could lose up to four acts each weekend.
The website had said that two categories would perform on each Saturday and Sunday night before a public vote would eliminate one act from each.
Exactly what has been planned will be revealed when The X Factor 2017 goes live this Saturday night from 8:20PM an on Sunday from 7PM.
