X Factor's Emily Middlemas says Cheryl Cole was RIGHT to send her home two years ago.
The talented Scottish teenager got as far as judges' houses in 2014, then aged just 15.
But Cheryl gave her a no, saying she didn't feel Emily was ready.
Looking back now, Emily thinks Cheryl made the right decision despite her tears at the time.
Emily said: "One hundred per cent [Cheryl was right]. At the time I was devastated, but I said I'd come back in two years and I have - and I'm so happy."
Explaining what was different this time, Emily went on: "I feel more confident in myself because I've found my style and who I am.
"Two years ago, I didn't know much about music, but since then I've been writing and been all over the UK doing gigs."
It's not just Emily that's changed: Cheryl has gone and now Simon Cowell is her mentor.
And she can't get enough of the music mogul, enthusing: "He's actually one of the nicest people ever.
"He's so down to earth and genuine and he really does care about every single one of us. After we got the results [at judges' houses], he sat us all down and told us we have to put our health first, we have to eat, we have to stay healthy and get enough sleep. He's a nice guy."
Judges' houses also provided Emily with another reunion when Simon was joined by Spice Girls Mel B and Emma Bunton as his guests.
"It was amazing," raved Emily. "I used to be obsessed with them and it was amazing for them to hear me sing.
"Obviously, Mel B was a judge back in 2014 so for her to remember me was a good thing. I thought she would've forgotten about me after two years!"
The X Factor 2016 airs live this Saturday night on ITV from 8PM.
