While it was Seann Miley Moore who left at the weekend, it’s often the Girls who have bad luck in the competition…

Ella Henderson

Perhaps the biggest ever X Factor shock exit happened back in 2012 when Ella was dropped in the sing-off against James Arthur. James went on to win the show, the first act to appear in a sing-off to do so. Despite her exit, Ella was still signed by Syco and last year enjoyed a Number 1 single and album.

Laura White

Laura’s exit in Week 5 during the 2008 run was a huge surprise as she was a considered one of the favourites to win at the time. Unfortunately for Laura, she had to face the powerful vocals of Ruth Lorenzo in the sing-off with both girls nailing their performances.

Lucy Jones

Lucy’s exit has proved to be one of the show’s most controversial ever after she was booted out during the 2009 series against Jedward following Movies week.

Aiden Grimshaw

Aiden had been fancied as a potential winner of 2010 series but in Week 6 he fell into the bottom two for the first time. After the sing off, AIden was controversially given the boot against Katie Waissel who was making her FOURTH appearance in the danger zone.

Gamu

Gamu’s shock exit stands out as she didn’t even make the live shows. Cheryl faced a HUGE backlash over her choices when she decided to not take the singer through to the final twelve on the show back in 2010.
