X Factor 2012: Melanie McCabe returns to Manchester auditions

Melanie McCabe (X Factor 2011)

Melanie McCabe has returned to The X Factor 2012 auditions, we can reveal.

The Dublin-based singer made it all the way to the judges’ houses stage of the competition last year, but didn’t make it through to the live shows.

Mentor Kelly Rowland instead selected to take through Sophie Habibis, Amelia Lily, Misha B and Janet Devlin.

This year is Melanie’s third time on the show, having previously made the bootcamp stages back in 2008 at the age of 15 after splitting the panel.

Having quit the show, Kelly wasn’t on the panel to comment on Melanie’s comeback, but having seen the singer perform live ourselves we’re sure it was rather epic.

There’s no doubting that Melanie can sing, but will she able to make it to the live shows this year?

Melanie isn’t the only of last year’s contestants to try out again either.

Joe Cox, who also made it to the judges’ houses, returned to audition in London last week.

Take That’s Gary Barlow told him: “Your ‘no’ was the hardest for me by far and I’ve been waiting for this moment. You are going to be a great artist Joe, welcome back.”

Scottish singer Jade Richards, who also made the judges’ houses stage last year along with Melanie, is also back for the judges.
