X Factor 2018: J Sol’s emotional audition leaves Louis Tomlinson and Ayda Williams in tears

J Sol gave a heartbreaking audition on The X Factor 2018 tonight.

It left judges Louis Tomlinson, Ayda Williams, Robbie Williams and Simon Cowell all very emotional.

The four piece returned this evening for more auditions at The SSE Arena, Wembley.

One of the latest acts singing for the panel is 25-year-old year old singer J Sol.

He came to the try outs alone to sing an original song about his late mum Victoria.

J Sol told the judges: “The song is a song I wrote called Bullet In My Heart and it was the only song I wrote throughout in 2015. I suddenly lost my mum in 2015.

“I’ve always been terrified of doing this show, but I was going through texts and my mum was always telling me ‘You need to do X Factor’ and I always said no but reading the text I thought, I want to finally tick off something she’s wanted me to do.

“I just want to inspire other people.”

J Sol added to the cameras: “Mum is my biggest fan. She believes in me more than I believe in myself… I still talk about her as though she’s here.

“My mum was so healthy, you’d never think she was ill. You just have to appreciate the ones you have when you have them as you never know.”

His audition touched the judges, with Louis getting on stage to hug the hopeful.

Robbie said: “Your voice, your soul, your passion, incredible. I feel you so much.”

Ayda added: “In 2014 I lost my father unexpected and I will never forget how the world swallowed me up that day.

“I want to say thank you because that was a powerful, beautiful song.”

Louis commented: “That is the power of music that you can write a song that moved us all. You’re a legend for what you just done.”

And Simon concluded: “I understand how difficult it would’ve been to perform that.

“It was an amazing audition. You’ve an amazing voice. It’s something we’re all going to remember.”

Other acts we saw auditioning on The X Factor tonight were Louise Setara, a 30 year old cleaner who sings an original song, Cezar Ouatu, a 38 year old singing teacher who surprises the judges, and Panda Ross, who previously appeared on The X Factor in the USA.

There was also Malta’s Gaia Cauchi who previously represented Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 and won with her song The Start and drag act Gingzilla from Sydney, Australia.

The auditions conclude Sunday night before the six chair challenge begins next week.
