X Factor 2018 results: Favourites to go in tonight’s show revealed

The X Factor 2018 results will see two more acts leave tonight, following sound problems in Saturday’s show.

Yesterday’s episode saw audio issues begin as Danny Tetley started to perform.

A message then appeared on screen: “We are sorry for the temporary interference in sound,” as the problems continued throughout Anthony Russell’s song.

As a result of the “technical issue”, the opening of the public vote has been delayed until tonight. A spokesperson for ITV said: “We apologise for the technical issue that affected the sound on part of tonight’s episode of The X Factor. We are investigating why this happened.

“We can confirm tonight’s public vote has been cancelled and will instead open in tomorrow night’s show at 8.30pm on ITV.”

This evening’s episode will see all 12 of Saturday’s performances played out in full – hopefully without any sound issues this time.

Lines will then open for a short while for viewers to vote for their favourite in a short flash vote.

An X Factor spokesperson explained: “Each of last night’s performances from our 12 contestants will be played out in full on tonight’s X Factor before the public vote opens.

“This follows the sound issues on part of last night’s show.”

Alongside Anthony and Danny, those left in the contest include Misunderstood, Acacia & Aaliyah and five piece boy band United Vibe. They’re joined by Bella Penfold, Molly Scott, Scarlett Lee, and Shan Ako.

Rounding off the current crop of contestants are Brendan Murray, Dalton Andre Harris and Giovanni Spano.

Bookmakers have installed boy band United Vibe and Molly as the favourites to go, while Brendan is also in danger having been in the sing-off last week. At the other end of things, Dalton remains the current favourite to win.

The X Factor 2018 airs toight at the later than usual time of 8:30PM on ITV.

Alongside the delayed vote and results, this evening’s episode will feature guest performances from One Direction’s Liam Payne and 2012 X Factor winner James Arthur.

As a result of the changes, it’s expected that the show will be slightly longer than the currently billed hour long running time.
