X Factor 2018: Dalton Harris and Shan Ako lead way in downloads
Dalton Andre Harris is once again leading the way in this week’s X Factor 2018 downloads.
Despite Saturday’s sound problems, studio versions of all the tracks performed on the X Factor live shows have been released for download via iTunes and to stream via Apple Music.
And as always, that means we can see exactly how well each act is doing on the charts.
Eleven of the third round live performances have been made available following last night’s show. Brendan Murray’s cover of Youngblood is currently not available.
Of the rest, Dalton is leading the way once again.
His cover of Radiohead’s Creep for Halloween week won praise from the panel and has been equally well received by viewers, it seems.
The song is currently the best selling of last night’s performances and ranks at Number 34 in the overall iTunes download chart, similar to how he performed last week with his version of Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing.
Dalton is one of only two X Factor acts to currently crack the Top 100 Chart on iTunes, with Shan Ako the next highest contestant. Her cover of The Sound Of Silence is at Number 98.
Struggling and potentially at risk of ending up in the sing-off tonight is Molly Scott. While her cover of Britney Spears’ Toxic is available to download, it is not currently charting at all in the iTunes Top 1,500 songs.
Also potentially at risk are Robbie’s groups Acacia and Aaliyah and Misunderstood, ranking at 926 and 746 respectively.

Dalton Harris – Creep (34)
Shan Ako – The Sound of Silence (98)
Anthony Russell – Demons (105)
Bella Penfold – In My Blood (167)
Scarlett Lee – I Put a Spell on You (170)
Giovanni Spano – Live and Let Die (346)

United Vibe – Bleeding Love (467)
Misunderstood – Thriller (746)
Acacia and Aaliyah – Jump (926)
Molly Scott – Toxic (>1500)
However, downloads and streams don’t keep acts in the competition. Instead, it’ll be viewer votes that decide who stays once again.
This weekend is another double elimination. The act with the least votes from the public will be instantly eliminated. The next two acts with the fewest votes will go forward to the sing-off. They’ll perform again where the judges will decide who to save.
The X Factor is back at the later time of 8:30PM tonight on ITV with the third round of results, as well as performances from 2012 X Factor winner James Arthur and One Direction’s Liam Payne. James will be singing new single Empty Space while Liam will team up with Jonas Blue on Polaroid.
