X Factor 2017: Big Brother’s Simon Gross thinks he’s the next Honey G
Former Big Brother housemate Simon Gross is aiming to go all the way on The X Factor 2017.
The 2015 BBUK contestant previously auditioned for X Factor before he appeared on Big Brother without success.
Now Simon’s back for another go, and was seen on yesterday evening’s latest episode on ITV.
Now hoping for success on X Factor after his Big Brother appearance, so-called Showbiz Simon performed Robbie Williams’ Let Me Entertain You – with a few lyrical changes.
“Tell me, do you do panto?” asked Sharon Osbourne after the audition.
Simon got enough yeses to make bootcamp, and will be see again next weekend.
Speaking after his audition aired, Simon said he was “expecting” hate but vowed never to stop trying to entertain people.
He told the Daily Star newspaper ahead of next weekend’s bootcamp: “I’m expecting it. Haters will never go away. But I’m a fighter.
“I want to entertain people. I’m not going away. You haven’t seen the end of me.”
Meanwhile, Simon went on to take a swipe at his X Factor rival, Montenegro’s former Eurovision entry Slavko.
Slavko was seen on Saturday’s show, also making it through to bootcamp.
Simon said: “Slavko is a gimmick. He’s very nice but very quiet. I don’t know that he has an electric personality.
“I can add energy and punch to the show. I’m not sure Slavko really can. It’s all very well having lovely voices but if they have no punch or energy – forget it. Look at Honey G. Everyone talked about her.”
The X Factor 2017 continues Saturday and Sunday nights on ITV.
