One of the BBC’s biggest drama hits is getting ready to return, and we’ve got a first glimpse of what’s to come.

The BBC has released the first teaser trailer for series four of Blue Lights, offering an early look at the next chapter of the acclaimed Belfast-set police drama ahead of its return to BBC One and iPlayer this autumn.

The preview sees Constable Shane Bradley carrying out what appears to be a routine traffic stop as he attempts to improve Blackthorn’s crime statistics, but things don’t quite go to plan.

The new series reunites Siân Brooke, Martin McCann, Katherine Devlin, Nathan Braniff and Frank Blake, while Richard Dormer returns as Gerry Cliff for the first time since series one.

Hannah McClean and Jonathan Harden are also back, with the new episodes set to revisit unanswered questions from the show’s past.

Joanne Crawford, Andi Osho, Abigail McGibbon, Dearbháile McKinney, Neil Keery, Andrea Irvine, Cathy Tyson and Michael Smiley also feature in the new series as the drama continues to follow the challenges faced by officers policing the streets of Belfast.

Since launching in 2023, Blue Lights has become one of the BBC’s biggest drama successes, winning BAFTA and RTS awards while being sold to more than 160 territories around the world.
