Prime Video has unveiled the first trailer for its new thriller The Assassin.
Landing on 25 July as a six-part series, The Assassin stars Keeley Hawes as Julie, a retired hitwoman living quietly on a Greek island until her violent past catches up.
Her estranged son Edward, played by Freddie Highmore, arrives with questions about his mother’s life and his own father’s identity.
The trailer shows the pair forced to flee across Europe, dodging killers and uncovering a dark conspiracy that threatens them both.
Their uneasy relationship is pushed to breaking point as they realise the biggest danger might come from within their own family.
Joining Keeley and Freddie are Gina Gershon, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Jack Davenport, Richard Dormer and David Dencik.
The Assassin is created by Harry and Jack Williams, the duo behind hits like The Tourist and The Missing.
All six episodes drop on Prime Video in the UK on 25 July.
The Assassin joins Prime Video’s growing slate of UK Originals alongside Clarkson’s Farm, The Rig, and hits like Fallout and The Rings of Power.
