We’ve got our first look at a new ITV drama that starts with a big party and ends with old secrets coming back up.
The Party stars Luke Evans as Martin Gilmour, a journalist whose life has been shaped by his close bond with rich MP Ben Fitzmaurice, played by Tom Cullen.
The five-part drama is based on Elizabeth Day’s novel and follows Martin from his school days through to a birthday night that could change everything.

Martin first meets Ben after winning a place at a top boarding school, where the Fitzmaurice family give him the sense of home he has always wanted.
Years later, Martin is invited to Ben’s grand birthday bash, just as Ben starts thinking about a major move in politics.
That one night soon pulls the past into the open, with the story cutting between the party and the police search that follows.
Joanna Scanlan, Sarah Solemani, Lydia Leonard, Lindsay Duncan and Douglas Hodge also star, with World Productions behind the show.

The Party airs this autumn on ITV1 and ITVX.
