Bouncer Jamie Bruce wowed the judges on The Xtra Factor 2011 last night, with the bulky singer's tender voice surprising the judges. The huge doorman, who currently works the doors at a strip club, received three yeses from the panel at auditions in London.
Tulisa Contostavlos, Louis Walsh and Kelly Rowland were left alone at the auditions after Gary Barlow took a private jet to his Take That gig at Wembley.
Speaking before he went out on stage, 32-year-old Jamie said: "I like looking after people, making them feel safe.
"But I want to sing."
After his brilliant perform of Stevie Wonder’s Signed Sealed Delivered on stage at the O2 Arena, Tulisa and Louis were full of praise.
Tulisa raved: "The next time you go to that strip club, you’re going to be getting a lot of free dances, I can tell you that! You have a great voice, great charisma, great personality. I think that was a brilliant audition. I loved it!
Louis Walsh meanwhile enthused: "I thought it was a great audition, I think you’re a real soul man and I’m really glad you came here."
However Kelly Rowland wasn't totally convinced, telling Jamie: "I think the voice lacks a little bit, that's the only thing I'm really nervous about."
"Will you teach me?" quipped Jamie.
"I would love to teach you my dear... with your cute smile!" giggled Kelly.
Despite her reservations, Kelly joined Tulisa and Louis in giving Jamie a yes to bootcamp.
