Those who follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook probably would have noticed us raving about Beyonce on BBC Two last night, and unsurprisingly we weren’t the only fans of the current Queen of Pop. An unusual and controversial choice to headline the third day of the festival, Beyonce certainly got viewers watching from home.
A peak audience of around 2.5 million viewers tuned into BBC Two from 10PM to watch Beyonce's set, which included a cover of Kings of Leon track 'Sex on Fire'. Coverage of the last day of the weekend averaged 1.2 million between 10PM and 2AM last night on the channel.
Meanwhile ITV1's Popstar to Operastar continued to flop, with less than 3 million viewers tuning in for the fourth week of the show, which saw Andy Bell eliminated from the competition. 2.85 million watched on ITV1 from 8Pm, while 2.86 million returned at 10PM for the results.
Earlier on BBC Two, the return of Top Gear entertained 5.1 million viewers.
