Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell have spoken for the first time about their returns to The X Factor.
In an interview on Daybreak this morning, the pair spoke about how they've gone from feuding after Cheryl's X Factor USA axe back to being best pals... sort of.
Revealing how she made the first move to get back on talking terms with Simon, Cheryl explained: "I heard a rumour saying he didn't want anyone to know it was his birthday, which highly amused something inside of me.
"So I found out from people where he was, how long he was going to be there, was he there on his birthday, and I sent a plane across with a banner."
Meanwhile, Simon admitted he made mistake in the way he treated Cheryl on the US series in 2011.
"You know what, I've been doing this for a long time. You have fallouts. I held my hands up and said I made a mistake and I was sorry, and I was sorry," the music mogul explained. "And then when I decided I wanted to come back, I also decided I had to have Cheryl back on the show with me."
And on which judges could be joining them on the panel, Simon added: "We've spoken to people but we did agree when Cheryl agreed to come back on the show that we would agree together.
"Because I'm not going to put someone next to her that she hates."
