The man who falsely accused X Factor judge Louis Walsh of groping him in an Irish night club could be sent to jail, a judge has warned. 24-year-old Leonard Watters last month pleaded guilty to two counts of making false police reports over the incident back in May, which Louise has previously described as the worst time of his life.
Speaking in court, Watters apologised to Louise, saying: "I would like to sincerely apologise to Mr Louis Walsh for all the stuff I put him through. The allegation was false.
He'll be sentenced in January 2012 over the crimes, with the judge warning: "I'm considering a custodial sentence given the gravity of it. It's a very serious matter."
The father of two has previous convictions for breaching a barring order under domestic violence laws and driving offences.
