Sophie Habibis has become the latest contestant to be eliminated from the X Factor in a shock bottom two result. The 19-year-old bar maid found herself in the bottom two alongside favourite, and fellow girl category contender, Misha B.
In the sing off, Sophie performed Shelter by The XX while Misha performed Use Somebody by the Kings Of Leon
It was then down to the shocked judges to decide their fate.
Louis said: "I'm going to save the person who I think has star quality, the person I think I can go far. This just goes to prove no one is safe. The person I have to send home is Sophie."
Tulisa said: "Umm... the truth is, neither of you deserved to be in the bottom two. Sophie, I have always loved you, I've got a big connection with you. Misha, we've had our issues but we're cool now. I... I can't relate this down to personality and connections, I have to be honest, I have to go with the person I can most relate to musically... the act I'm sending home tonight is Sophie."
Talking via the phone from LA, an ill Kelly Rowland then gave the casting vote.
She said: “This is so hard because I know how bad you two want it, but I know one of you wants it more than the other. The act I’m sending home is Sophie.”
Gary then added: "I'm amazed and I'm shocked but the act I'm sending home is Sophie."
Kelly told the youngster over the phone: “I just want to tell Sophie, she is remarkable and I think she has to continue to develop. Sophie is such a voice and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.”
Sophie told Dermot after her exit: “Thank you for this amazing experience, I’m going to continue working hard and prove I should’ve stayed in this competition.”
