This could well be Gary Barlow's first and last year on The X Factor, as he admits today he's not sure whether he wants to return for a second series in 2012. Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, Gary said he was finding the show more demanding than he had expected.
"I am enjoying it but it’s stressful. I’d like to get to the end of the season before deciding to come back," he told the newspaper.
He continued: "Don’t get me wrong, I’ve really enjoyed it and if I was asked back next year I would definitely consider it. But it has been ten times more work than I thought it was going to be.
“I didn’t book anything in my diary for the rest of the year and thank God because I haven’t got the energy to do anything else.
“When I get to Monday morning I’m completely drained.”
Gary also confessed that the pressure of the show had also taken him by surprise, explaining to the tabloid: "It follows you everywhere and all that anybody wants to talk about is X Factor. You are responsible for putting people on stage and saying to the public, ‘What do you think?’ and it’s not always good.
“I’ve had lots of sleepless nights and my stubble is going grey.”
